Our Organization What is the Eastern Regional Tourism District?
The Eastern Regional Tourism District is a non-profit, publicly- funded organization dedicated to the sustained growth of the tourism industry in eastern Connecticut.
The organization represents the 42 towns in the area; Ashford, Bozrah, Brooklyn, Canterbury, Chaplin, Colchester, Columbia, Coventry, East Lyme, Eastford, Franklin, Griswold, Groton City, Town of Groton, Hampton, Killingly, Lebanon, Ledyard, Lisbon, Lyme, Mansfield, Montville, New London, North Sonington, Norwich, Old Lyme, Plainfield, Pomfret, Preston, Putnam, Salem, Scotland, Sprague, Sterling, Stonington, Thompson, Union, Voluntown, Waterford, Willington, Windham, Woodstock.
VISION Our vision is to make the region a Top-50 U.S. overnight leisure travel destination.
We will achieve our vision by working on behalf of our constiuents in Eastern Connecticut to develop strategies that increase awareness of the region as a preferred travel destination, and increase market share of overnight leisure visitors.
MISSION To contribute, through tourism, to the economic prosperity of the 42 towns of Eastern Connecticut. This is accomplished by marketing the region, to domestic and international travelers, as an attractive destination for vacations, group tours and meetings, and by assisting the businesses making up the tourism industry of the region in successfully promoting their products and services to these visitors.
